Still Unsure About Research
It's day 4 and I can honestly say that I still don't know as much as I need to know about research. I'm definitely going to have to do more research on conducting research. I have gained insight on some of the key components of a research article, but I'm still analyzing them to determine exactly what is expected in the Research Summary Chart. I really need to learn more about the expectations of research in general, and it makes me nervous to hear the words "theoretical framework" and to think of finding the right literary experts to quote. I'm up for the challenge, though.

I completely understand how you feel. Learning about research is such a long process but if you stick with it then you'll eventually figure it out. There is so much information out there that it's sometimes hard to know what is good research.
ReplyDeleteIt's interesting to me that you brought up wanting to learn about the theoretical framework. For me, this was the most difficult thing to learn. Thankfully I had a great teacher for my educational research class. She taught us so much about understanding and reading research. Once you learn how to recognize those key phrases like "The purpose of this study..." it gets so much easier. You can seriously flip through a study in about 15 minutes and know the most basic information.
My suggestion for you would be to practice finding those key phrases that give you the most important information. I think this experience of blogging will be fun and interesting. I look forward to working with you for the next few weeks.
Wow, looks like you are in for an interesting summer. I teach 6th grade Language Arts in Spring, Texas and love it. Good luck on your research, and I look forward to reading your blogs.
